HTML5 elements: <OUTPUT>

The <output> is a new element of HTML5 that can be included in a form (<form>) to semantically mark the result of a calculation between other fields of the same form. It is supported by all modern browsers, Firefox 4+, Chrome 10+, Internet Explorer 9+, Safari 5+, Opera 11+ and, with some help from Modernizr, Internet Explorer 8.

Republication: About the new form fields in HTML5

Forms in HTML5 are improved considerably, improvements that are long overdue. You can read a presentation and analysis of all the new fields we have at our disposal at Dive into HTML5 and I will add upon with information about the styling and the different rendering of those fields in various browsers, something that I think is of great interest to those that want or need similar rendering in different browsers.
